Teen Tuesday

Going Rogue (An Also Known As Novel) by Robin Benway (Walker Childrens hardcover, 14 January 2014).

After spending most of her life without a permanent home base due to the profession she shares with her parents, 17-year-old spy Maggie Silver has been thrilled that her family has been able to spend a year living in a New York condo.

Things have been relatively quiet since she was almost kidnapped and killed along with her boyfriend Jesse and best friend Roux.  She mostly regrets having revealed her true identity to them, because that means they are perpetually in danger.

But when their handler and friend Angelo reveals that Maggie's parents are accused of stealing evidence from a case they worked on years earlier, she realizes that the secret organization she's worked for nearly all her life has become corrupt, and it may be up to her to clear her parents and expose what the Collective has become.

Despite her efforts to keep Jesse and Roux out of it this time, they are also targeted by the crooked faction, and the three of them are forced to escape to Paris, where they go into hiding and try to come up with a plan to expose the traitors.

This is an exciting story, with a touch of humour and romance.  It's sure to be enjoyed by fans of Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls series as well as the Finishing School series by Gail Carriger.
