Doing a video story for the Boston Register's online edition is almost like being a television reporter again. At least, that's what Jane Ryland's new editor tells her. And it is, at least the part where people tell her to take her cameraman and leave.

But it becomes more than just a human interest story when Jane discovers that it has been turned into a moneymaking opportunity by some unscrupulous people.
Meanwhile, a guy walks into Jake's office and confesses to a murder that happened more than 20 years earlier; a case that affected Jake and his family personally.
In the midst of all this, Jane and Jake are having trouble connecting, which is hampered even more by coincidence and crossed signals. For someone in the business of communication, Jane is not very good at it in her personal life.
Aside from making me want to knock Jake and Jane's heads together, this was a gripping and entertaining book. I'm looking forward to the next installment of their story!
By the way, for residents of Southern California, Hank will be appearing in three locations this weekend. Check her website for details.
FTC Full Disclosure: Many thanks to the publisher and to Edelweiss for the e-galley.
Jane's determination is my favorite part of her. I'm excited for this one. Thanks for the review!
